The official Japanese website for Dragon Quest Builders 2 has been updated, including new information and screenshots of Material Island. There is also more information on evolved building elements included with this update.
Material Island will allow the player to retrieve plenty of building materials, including valuable ores and rare flower seeds. Frequently-used materials, like wood and string, will be registered once used on a workbench,, allowing for unlimited uses while on Material Island. As with previous islands introduced, the player can visit Material Island with friends in a multiplayer format. There are also special locations on Material Island that are derived from a contest held in Dragon Quest Builders. These locations will contain structures built by other players from the original game.
New block types, like Magne Blocks, Trampolines, and Launch Blocks, have also been introduced. Each new block has unique qualities that will allow for creative players to design more advanced structures. For example, using the Magne Blocks allows a platform to travel along a magnetic path, creating a moving platform.
Dragon Quest Builders 2 is expected to launch in Japan on December 20, 2018, for the PlayStation 4. North America and Europe will be waiting until 2019, with a specific date not currently set.
